The active ingredient in Wegovy is semaglutide which is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It's used in combination with lifestyle changes to help manage weight in people who struggle to maintain their weight below a BMI of 30.
All GLP-1 agonists are prescription medicines in New Zealand which means we can't sell it "over the counter" (OTC).
